National Nonprofit Day

Posted on Thursday, 17 August 2023

Every year on August 17, we come together to celebrate National Nonprofit Day, a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring the incredible contributions of nonprofit organizations in making a positive impact on our society. From championing social causes to addressing pressing global issues, nonprofits play a vital role in shaping a better world for all. Today, we take a moment to appreciate their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to serving our communities.

National Nonprofit Day serves as an opportunity for individuals and communities to reflect on the importance of giving back. You can make a difference:

  • Make a donation to help those in need. United Way mobilizes resources to help keep food on the table, provide children with safe places to learn, give shelter to families in need, and more.
  • Volunteer to make a direct impact on our communities. Whether you clean up a local park, participate in a kit building, or stock shelves at a food pantry, you can make an impact.
  • Spread awareness about our work. We work to ensure every individual in every community has the opportunity to thrive. We do this by inspiring collective community giving, supporting nonprofits through volunteer connection to technical support, and convening, studying and acting on our communities’ profound challenges.
