Community Initiatives

WORKING TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE LARGE-SCALE COMMUNITY IMPACT

We are stronger together than any one organization alone.
We believe in collaboration and in partnering on community initiatives to contribute toward effective, shared solutions.

ROCHESTER-MONROE ANTI-POVERTY INITIATIVE

The Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative (RMAPI) is a multi-sector community collaborative with a goal to improve quality of life by reducing poverty and increasing self-sufficiency. To do this, RMAPI is focused on increasing income, making basic needs more affordable and accessible, and lowering concentrations of poverty.
United Way is proud to serve as the host and fiscal agent for RMAPI. We have signed the RMAPI Employer Pledge, endorse it and encourage others to take the pledge to help fight poverty.

SYSTEMS INTEGRATION PROJECT

The Monroe County Systems Integration Project aims to establish connections between 300 local health, education and human services organizations by building technology and establishing relationships across sectors. This project is a priority identified by the Regional Economic Development Council, the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative (RMAPI), and others as a critical need for our community, as well as a key need and priority identified by people living in poverty.

United Way is honored to serve in a coordinating role for the Systems Integration Project on behalf of the community that we collectively support.
